Traveling adventures

Well we are in Canada. What a great place this is. Mommie and I had a rough start to our trip because the plane that were took from LAX to YVR was late getting to LA so we had to wait around the airport for a few extra hours. But once we were in the air it was smooth sailing. We managed to get a new flight into Kelowna instead of Penticton and it was great to see Oma when we landed. Even the Canadian Customs Officer was nice and stamped my passport since it was my first time in Canada. Opa was sure excited to see me also and has been having a great time holding me and playing with me on the kitchen table. I sure like him lots too.

We are now in Comox and visiting with Great Opa. I think he really likes me and we are having a great time getting to know each other. His house is nice and warm so I guess older people and babies get along great, since we all like the warmth. The weather has been a wee bit colder here then it was in California when we left. But it is nice to be able to wear some of my nice new knit outfits that Oma made for me.

On out way to Comox we stopped in Surrey and we got to meet a bunch of new people. Shane and Kim came out and visited and so did Ailsa and my new best bud Brody. It was really great to meet then all and I am looking forward to seeing Shane and Kim's little one when we come back in July sometime. I am sure that Brody and I will be able to play more together when we come back. But there is a great picture of Ailsa, Mommie, Brody and Me all looking at each other that Mommie will have to try and post when we get back to Penticton. I am sure there will be other photos that she will get together for everyone to see very soon as well.

In other news I have got my first two teeth already. It has been rough while they have been working their way out of my gums but I am sure that they will come in useful in the next little while. Mommie has told everyone that they can't feed me solid food because we are saving that for when we get home and Daddie can feed me for the first time.

I sure am missing Daddie especially at night. He is so good at walking me around the house and putting me to sleep it just isn't the same without him. Mommie is OK at it and Oma is a little better but they sure aren't substitutes for good ol' Daddie. The other night when Daddie called and I was all fuzzy and crying it was his voice over the phone that made me feel better. (Hi Daddie)

I think I like this toy. There are so many fun noises that it makes. I am so glad that Mommie and Daddie bought it for me.

Just a day in the life

Here is a day in the life of Mommie, Daddie and Xander.

I woke up at about 5:45 this morning and got Mommie to get up and feed me. She was actually pretty happy about the fact that I slept so long because I haven't been sleeping as late as I did this morning. At about 6:15 she took me back to bed with her and we played for a little bit until I got tired out and then we napped until about 9:30 and played until 10:00 when Mommie finally got up with me and we started the day.

After Mommie took her shower and got dressed and got me all dressed we went outside into the backyard and sat in the sun for alittle bit. Mommie and Daddie ate their breakfasts and Cirrus ran around the yard barking like a dog possessed. It was so nice to sit outside and make funny faces with Mommie and Daddie.

After Mommie and Daddie where done with their breakfast and coffees I got to eat a little more and we all loaded up into the car and went to Costco. What a trip that was. It is such a big store and I was just way to excited to see all the sights to be able to take a nap while Mommie carried me around. I got a fussy a few times because I didn't want to be facing Mommie in the carrier I wanted to face forward and see everything. Eventually Mommie decided it was time to give me a little to eat and I took a short nap... But seriously there was just way to much to see to sleep for long. Mommie and Daddie were good to me today and bought me a few new Dr. Seuss books which will be really cool to read together.

After Costco we came home and sat outside for alittle while longer while Mommie and Daddie waited for dinner to cook. Once dinner was ready we all sat on the couch and watched the 40 year old virgin while having dinner. I got to have another little snack and once the movie was over we decided it was time to go for a walk. I got loaded up into the stroller and we walked down to the Starbucks. It is really cool to go for a ride in the stroller when it is dark outside because of all the funky lights from the cars and the stores. I managed to stay awake for about half of the walk to Starbucks and then it was off to dreamland for me. I slept through the whole time we were at Starbucks and for about half the walk home. It was pretty cool on the walk home because we took a detour and walked through this really funky Mexican market and they have all kinds of little lights strung up over the walkway, way cool!

Once we got home it was time for my nightly bath time and then my last feeding for the night and off to dreamland again. All in all it was a pretty fun day and I am looking forward to what we are going to do tomorrow. The weather is suppose to be really warm again so I am hoping that we will spend another day outside in the backyard. I just love sitting outside and watching all the leaves in the trees cast shadows everywhere and all the birds flying around.

No Pictures

Well some sad news. We are having some technical difficulties. Mommie downloaded some new software for the camera and now it doesn't seem to want to run for her. So there are a few videos that are waiting to be downloaded on the camera and they can't be.

Everything seems to have fallen into place for our trip back to Canada. We are just waiting for the return of Mommie's visa from it's validation process. It should be back early next week. Then we will be jetting off on the 20th.

Mommie got an email from a friend yesterday suggesting that we get together with some new people. There is a baby out there that wants to meet me and I am super excited to meet him as well. I will tell you all about it once we have met up. It will probably happen after we get back from out trip to Canada.

I am going to try and keep everyone up to date as we are away as much as I can. I am sure that we will be pretty busy but I am also sure that the camera flashes will be popping alot while I am with Oma and Opa so stay tuned for all the exciting news.

No More Bragging

Mommie had been bragging too much about my ability to sleep for really long hours overnight so I showed her. The last week or so I have not been sleeping through the night at all and have even been difficult to get to sleep at night as well.

Ok so here is how the routine use to go. Around 9pm we would set up a bath and I would get to have a nice warm bath and then get put into a nice clean diaper and one of the two swaddle me's that Mommie has. Then we would go and sit and I would get to eat as much as I wanted until I feel asleep on Mommie's lap. She would sit and wait for about 15-20 minutes after I feel asleep to carry me off to my crib. You remember the "big boy bed" I have been sleeping in that for about a month now.

Ok so now here is what the routine (if you can all it that) has become. Around 8pm I start to get really fussy sometimes it is even earlier just depends on how the day has gone. When Mommie and Daddie have finally had enough of trying to get me to calm down they pull out the bath and in I go. I am normally happy while I am in the bath so that is nice for everyone concerned and then it is off to the changing table to get my diaper and swaddle me. This is generally a crap shoot as to whether I am happy about the new diaper and swaddle me. After that is all done we go to get my last meal of the night and I generally go to sleep pretty well on Mommie's lap, but here is where the fun begins. Mommie has still been waiting until she is sure I am totally asleep to move me to the "big boy bed" but instead of me going down peacefully I generally wake up and we have to start all over again. Now Mommie doesn't like to continually feed me if I wake up once she has tried to put me down once so both Mommie and Daddie have been known to walk me around the house with me over their shoulder for over an hour. Sometimes I am wide awake and just looking around and other times I am just cranky and crying the whole time. Then sometimes I will let them put me into the crib once I have fallen asleep sometimes not. If they get me into the crib I have been known to sleep for about an hour and then wake up and require some suckling on a finger/soother or possibly a milk jug in order for me to go back to sleep again. Then generally I am good again until about 430-5 am when I am up again and Mommie needs to feed me again. Lately Mommie has been taking me to their bed in the morning to get a few extra hours of sleep. I think Mommie would like to go back to the originally routine again.

In other news I finally got my passport today so all is a go for Mommie and my trip on the 20th. We also heard back about Mommie's visa and it does have to be sent in to be validated so that will be done tomorrow and hopefully they will get it back right away. We look forward to seeing everyone.

Yesterday Mommie and Daddie got me a bunch of new toys. I am sure there will be some pictures taken very soon and they will be posted very soon. I got this great thing called an exersaucer. I get to stand up on my own in the center of a ring of tons of toys. Some of the toys even light up and play tunes. It is great fun but I only like to be in it for about 2o to 30 minutes before I want to be picked up and played with again. I am sure that will change as I am a little more able to sit up on my own. I also got three new teether/rattles. Two of them light up too and the other one jiggles and rattles when you pull on it. I really like them all. I am sure that they will come with me when we head home. Mommie has been talking about all kinds of things that she wants to take home so I am sure we will have to start packing a few days in advance to make sure it will all fit. I am sure Mommie would like to take everything that I own with her but then we would have to travel by private jet because there would be no more room for any other passengers luggage.

Anyway I should go... there is only so much time in the day to eat, poop and play and I gotta get back to it.

Mommie had the wrong dates for our trip. It is actually going to be March 20th until April 10th. We are only going to be home for about 3 weeks not a month.

We are going to be flying into and out of Penticton and will be spending one week of our trip on Vancouver Island. Mommie was hoping to be able to stop in Vancouver but due to recent events with Tohru and the expense of his surgery we can't afford to stay in a hotel there. Mommie Daddie and I will have to return to Canada sometime before August as we have some plane tickets that have to be used up so we will be visiting everyone in Vancouver then. The best we can offer this trip might be a Sunday lunch as we pass through Vancouver on our way home from the Island but we will keep everyone up to date on that as we get closer to the date that we are leaving and the plans become more firm.

Shane and Kim we really would like to see you two before the little one arrives so will try and arrange the lunch if we can. Ailsa, Rob and Brody it would be great if you could meet us somewhere in Vancouver for lunch as well. If anyone has the time to come to the Okanagan for a visit you are more then welcome to come and see us there as well.
