Well the big day has come and gone and I really can't say that I remember much of it. I know that I got spoiled by Oma as she put a ton of time in to make me some lovely sweaters and a great big suit to wear when I am a little older. Mommie and Daddie had fun opening my presents for me this year while I took a little nap. Daddie was holding me while I napped and tried to take pictures of everything.

There is one more sweater that Oma knit for me and I got to wear it out to the Christmas party that we went to at Melissa and Al's house. It was great to see them again and meet a few more people. I really had a hard time staying awake for most of the time that I was there. But it was fun anyway. Mommie and Daddie had fun and they said that food was great!

Adventures 'n Smiles

It has been a few days since I have been able to come and visit with all of you again. Mommie has kept me pretty busy and I am still fighting my cold so have been trying to take it easier. Mommie and I had to run some errands over the last few days so Mommie bundled me up in the stroller and off we went.

Our first trip was over to Wal Mart to pick up my Thank you cards that have to be sent out and also to get our Greeting Cards for the holiday season. Since it is December 22nd I am sure that you all know that you will not be recieving your holiday cards until after Christmas. Mommie is saying that it is because I have been demanding so much of her time, which I guess it kinda true. I really don't like to be on my own too much I am pretty selfish when it comes to being in Mommie's and/or Daddie's arms. There is another reason that they are going to be late however, Mommie ordered them from Wal Mart online for in store drop off and it took longer then what she originally thought it would.

Yesterday we got to play Santa's little helper and had to get a few things for Daddie's stocking. I can't tell you were we went just in case Daddie reads this before Christmas. I can tell you that Mommie and I attracted a ton of attention with the stroller when we were out. Mommie took me out without being in the car seat so it was a whole different kinda ride. I got to lay down flat which made it much more comfortable to fall asleep. Here have a look!

Ok so I have some even cuter pictures for you too see. I have decided that it is time to share my first real smiles with all of you. I don't do it very often and it took Mommie a few shots with the camera in order to get these so I hope you like them.

The art of Baby Wearing

I have been doing some research lately. Why you ask? Well I will tell you. I have had a few nights where I have just not been too happy with this new non-womb world. A lot of the times it is just way too lonely, cold, silent, open and still for my liking. In my reasearch I stumbled across a whole new parenting style called "Baby wearing" I couldn't believe my luck and was so excited to tell Mommie all about it. I made her sit and read the whole section of the book one afternoon while I had my milk jug session. I could tell at first she wasn't really sure how it would go but she was willing to try it. I have posted some pictures of how we started out with the ring sling that Grannie McLeod gave us. It was great because I could still have access to the milk jugs in that sling. However when going out on errands and stuff it could get a little heavy for Mommie's shoulders, and I am still too little to be sitting up in that sling yet so I have to ly down it in all the time which is great at time but a little man like myself likes to mix it up every once in a while.

Well a few days ago Mommie decided to try out this other sling like thing that she had bought for me before I was even born. It is called the "Cuddly Wrap" and boy am I glad that she did. This wrap thing is so great because I get to be wrapped up nice and tight close to Mommie all warm and comfy. Which if you remember what I was saying at the beginning of the last paragraph is a cure to almost all of the things that I am not liking in this non-womb world.

Well today we went out to run a few errands and Mommie, being theb est Mommie in the whole world, brought the cuddly wrap with her. Went went out to Target looking for LED Christmas lights and just to wander around. It is Mommie and Daddie's favorite store for that I am told. I didn't really see much of Target because as soon as they took me out of the car seat and put me in the cuddly wrap I was out like a light for the whole shopping trip. I was so soothed by the cuddly wrap that I even slept through being transfered back to the car seat when it was time to go on the the grocery shopping part of today's outing. But Mommie was telling me that all kinds of people where looking at me while we were walking around Target. I know it is because I am so cute, I mean what else could it be. Mommie thinks it was because of the cuddly wrap as well as me being so cute. I bet they were all thinking that they should have had one of those cuddly wraps when they were babies. Anyway it doesn't matter I just like all the attention.

While we were at Albertsons doing our grocery shopping I was a little more awake and kept trying to have a conversation with Mommie. She would talk to me for a little while but keep getting distracted by the things that they were there to by. "HOW DARE SHE", is what you are thinking I know it because that is what I kept thinking. So as the shop progress I had to keep getting a little more insitant that she talk to me and besides I was starting to get a little hungry and wanted to get access to those lovely milk jugs again. When we left Albertsons and got back to the car and Mommie and Daddie took me out of the cuddly wrap I thought for sure I was gonna get some food... but no they put me into that nasty car seat again and the straps got pulled tighter and tighter and I had enough it was time to really express my displeasure. The whole way home I made sure that everyone within a 6 mile radius knew how unhappy I was with this whole situation. "HOW DARE THEY!!!!!"

To Mommie's credit as soon as we got home she did give me a big long milk jug session even before she changed my diaper which was good because I had worked up a really good hunger on the way home. After we finished our session and changed the diaper I got to go back into the cuddly wrap and Mommie got Daddie to take some pictures so that I could show you.

Two Month Check-up

Today was the doctor day again only this time it wasn't so pleasant. I had to get all my vaccines today so that meant 4 needles and one oral vaccine. I didn't mind the oral one it was flavoured and I was pretty hungry at the time so it went down nice. The needles however where not so nice at all. But otherwise I am in pretty good health.

Weight = 11 lbs 12 oz Can you believe I almost weight 12 lbs already.
Height = 23 inches. I am grewing like a bad weed.
Head circumference = 15 inches. Even my brain is getting bigger.

I still have my cold and after all those shots today all I really wanted to do was sleep. Mommie and Daddie took me to Starbucks after the doctors and I was all cozy in my cuddly wrap with Mommie. I didn't even wake up when she took me from the car seat and put me into the cuddly wrap. After Starbuks we stopped at Island Burger so that Daddie could get his lunch to take to work. Mommie and I dropped Daddie off and headed home. I was pretty hungry when we got in and had a good milk jug session while Mommie talk to Oma. Then I was off to dreamland again. I was hard to get woken up to have another snack before Mommie and I had to head back out to get Daddie from work tonight. You should be glad that I have been awake enough to even update everyone since my eyelids are so so very heavy still. Speaking of which I think I will head off for another little nap.

But before I go I thought you might like to see what happens when Mommie asks Daddie to keep an eye on me while she takes a shower in the morning.





Mommie was surprised that I was still asleep when she came back in because Daddie was snoring so close to my ear. To tell you the truth I find it quite comforting since I spent 9 months in a very noisy womb.

Holy fever Batman

Everything was going along nicely until I didn't want to take the milk jugs this morning and Mommie got worried. She pulled out the termometer and stuck it in my bum and the numbers kept climbing and climbing and didn't stop until they hit 100.4 degrees F. Mommie gets really upset and calls Daddie. Daddie rushes home. Meanwhile Mommie calls Doctor they tell here to give my baby Tylenol and come to the office at 3pm. I sleep for the rest of the afternoon.
We go to Doctors and find out that I am fine just have the same cold Mommie has had all week. We still go in on Staurday for a follow up and regular 2 month check up. I should still be getting my vaccines on Saturday should be an interesting day.
Now Mommie and I have to go and get Daddie from work tonight and if I am really good we might get a treat on the way home. I just had a really good poop that leaked all over Mommie again so I should be good for the ride.

Pictures for Oma

While Oma was here visiting me she asked us if we could take some pictures of the flowering bushes in the back yard when they were all in bloom. Well yesterday Mommie noticed that there were some flowers on then and took the following pictures.







Maybe Oma will write a comment and tell everyone what type of flowers these are because I just don't know. I know that she told me while we were out there when she was here but I just can't keep all this stuff in my little head right now.

Mommie and I are doing better today. I think she has passed a little touch of her cold on to me because I have been coughing and sneezing more then usual and I can't seem to stay awake for very long right now. Mommie is being very nice to me and carrying me around in the sling so that I can sleep more peacefully knowing that she isn't very far away. I am feeling a little needy right now.

I have a doctor's appointment on Saturday so there will be another progress report then. I am sure that I am doing fine but it is always nice to know. I am not too keen on the thought of getting all the vaccines that I am suppose to get then but I guess it has to be done. Will definitely let you know how is all goes. Daddie is going to come with us because Mommie is also feeling a little nervous about having to watch me get all those vaccine needles.

Can we say Meltdown?

What a day yesterday was. Mommie and Daddie took me all the way to Oxnard California to get my birth certificate and then to Thousand Oaks for Mommie's 6 week follow up doctor's appointment. I was so good while we were out and slept in the car seat for most of the day, so why were Mommie and Daddie surprised when I was upset for the rest of the night. What was not expected was that Mommie would also have a little meltdown when Daddie got home. See Daddie took the morning off work and then went in last night to make up some of the time that he missed. So Mommie was left alone with me while I was pooping up a storm and screaming and feeding, which I guess under normal circumstances would have been fine but Mommie is not well right now.

All is better today and I have slept a lot of the day and Mommie slept with me so she is feel a wee bit better as well. Daddie is still working long hours so Mommie was very glad that we got to cuddle all day today. She was rewarded for all her hard work last night with my first small attempts at a smile. It was quite the commotion when I pulled the corners of my mouth to the sides, that I had to stop what I was doing and really look at Mommie's face because I didn't even know what I had done. I think she wanted a repeat but despite all her encouragement I have kept the smiles to myself.

Mommie is sick

Mommie woke up the other day with a little bit of a sore throat and now she has this nasty cough that sounds all flemmy (not a work but give me a break I am only 6 weeks old). SHe has been kinda grump when I wake up from a morning nap and all she wants to do is sleep more. Last night I slept for about 5 hours but for the last two hours I was fuzzing so neither of us slept well. Then after we got up and I got to play with the mil jugs for half an hour I went back to sleep on the big bed with Mommie and Daddie, but only slept for about 2 hours and Mommie was not impressed with having to get up again. At least she got better as the day went by. We all went to Whole Foods to do the weekly grocery shopping which is Mommie's favorite store! The only bad thing was having to wait 3 hours between feedings this afternoon. I was way happier when we got home and I got to have some more milk jug time again.

I have a picture to share with you. It is a picture of this great cable knit sweater that Auntie Stephanie sent to me, she is so talented. I can't wait to get big enough to wear it.



She also sent me a great silver spoon. She knows me well as I was destined to have a silver spoon in my mouth as the old saying goes. I know I am going to be a spoilt by so many people since it already seems like I have tons of Aunts and Uncles and Grandmas and Grandpas.

First Bottle

I got my first bottle from Daddie the other day. We have been so busy with the weekend and Auntie Stacey's visit that I am just getting the chance to tell you about it now. While we were are the doctor's office a week or so ago the doctor asked Mommie if she ever planned on giving me a bottle. Mommie had said that she really didn't need to because she gets to stay home with me all the time. The Doctor said that if we ever wanted me to have a bottle that we should start with one every once in awhile sooner rather then later because babies can get stubborn if you wait too long. So Mommie thought that she better try it because I really don't like my sucky already, and out came the breast pump. 20 minutes of pumping later there was 1 oz of milk in the little bottle and Daddie came over and got to feed it to me. It was really cool to get milk while with Daddie for a change. Mommie almost missed the moment because I guzzled that milk down so quick. In my defence it was only 1 oz I mean come on how long does it take to drink 1 oz of milk. Mommie being quick on her feet and with a quick trigger finger managed to snap off the following shots to share with you.

We had a super busy weekend. Went out shopping with Mommie and Auntie Stacey to the big mall in Northridge. Mommie was looking for some nursing bras and finally found some at the Motherhood Maternity store. It was fun to get rolled around in the stroller and ooo'ed and awww'ed over. Lots of ladies were asking Mommie and Auntie Stacey if they were sisters. One lady even asked Auntie Stacey about what she liked to wear when she was pregnant. Hehehe we sure fooled them.
On sunday we got to hang out around the house most of the day, because when we woke up there was no power. Auntie Stacey said that she heard a big bang and saw flashes of light outside and then there was no more power. There was lots of commotion outside as all the power trucks came to fix the problem. It's a good thing that we have a gas stove or there wouldn't have been much food for Auntie Stacey's birthday dinner. In the afternoon Mommie and Daddie and I went out and fought the wind to go to a neighbourhood grocery store and pick up some TP and a few other things.
Today Mommie and Auntie Stacey took me on a stroll around the neighbourhood and it was a little less windy so it was a nice walk. I really like being out in the stroller.

Surprise Surprise Auntie Stacey came to see me. She flew in last night and is staying until Dec 5th. She is really cool and brought me a gift from her mom Lani. I am just so popular. Then again you have all seen me, is it any wonder why all the ladies can't resisit me?

Today we went out for a walk and ended up at the Panorama City Mall. Mommie thought that it would not be very nice in there but we were all pleasantly surprised. We didn't stay for long since Mommie didn't bring any money with her, but we did find a cool little Kids Outlet store there. All the outfits were pretty inexpensive and Mommie will more then likely go back there and get me some more clothes when I need new clothes. I am growing so much now that I am sure I will need new clothes all the time.

In other news I have started to wear my cloth diapers. They are so comfy and have even made my sore and red little tooshy feel better already. Daddie wasn't too happy with them last night when I had a big poopy that I had been saving up all day. The poop was everywhere all down my leg and all over Mommie's sweater and her jeans. Why was Daddie unhappy with the diapers you ask when it was Mommie who ended up with the poopy all over her? Well because Daddie is the one that had to rinse out all the clothes that I had on and the ones that Mommie had one too. The bummer for me was that I got put into the nasty bath again. I am still not too sure about getting those baths. They are getting a little better but I still would rather just stay dirty. Anyway I thought you might like to see me in my new diapers so here is a little picture.
